Centralized variant.

Automatic localization and isolation of a damaged section of a cable feeding ring and restoration of power supply to consumers (Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration, FLISR).
Distributed variant.

Performing prompt blocking on adjacent sides of feeding cable segments.
Arranging individual protection functions and automation of 6–10 kV distribution devices at feeding centers.
Within the scope of each task, the general system architecture was considered, along with establishing data exchange, and the positive and negative aspects of applying the IEC 61850 provisions.
